Our DIY contemporary Laundry Room Reveal with Semi made by hand

Renovating a home your self can feel like jumping sometimes down a cliff and never knowing if there’s going to be water here to split your autumn. It’s exhilarating and challenging…and you don’t know how it quite’s planning to come out. I’m able to design a space right through the day, but framing walls and going plumbing system is another matter! Needless to say we did exactly that – and for the time that is first! – within our laundry room that is recent renovation.

While my times are invested designing for consumers, my weekends and evenings are invested with my hubby (and kiddos!) on our 1972 fixer upper (start to see the full BEFORE tour). once we purchased our home this area had been housed and unfinished the laundry, a shop sink, furnace, and hot water heater. There are not any windows (SIGH) therefore the space ended up being big hole that is black of:

The ground had been a vinyl-like tile, the roof and walls were totally available, and there was clearly one depressing bulb by having a pull switch that lit the space that is whole. Look at sequence dangling at the very top right?

My objectives had been to:

  • Enclose the water furnace and heater(I didn’t wish to glance at those dudes more),
  • Create a foldable area and sink area where we’re able to treat stains,
  • Add storage space, storage space, storage space, and…
  • Create a closet that is separate big stuff like skis, cold temperatures tires, bikes, etc.

The master plan would be to pile the washer and dryer from the wall that is far build it into semi-custom cabinetry with a sink towards the left. (more…)
